A three-part incense burner/potpourri holder made c. 1800 in Dehua, in China's Fujian province. Three-footed fitted base; double-handled circular vessel; reticulated cover with foo dog finial. This incensor's rarity is its three pieces. Small inside cover chip does not detract from its value. Dorothy Wallace purchased this piece for her Chicago collection, reputedly from Bluett & Sons London, and exhibited it at Chicago's Heritage Museum. A Los Angeles dealer acquired the collection in 2020.
