Garments that would otherwise end up in a landfill are shredded, both cotton and polyester, and those shreds spun into yarns. That yarn is then woven into fabric and used for the manufacture of these bed coverings. The perimeter seam is the only contact point between all three layers, the top, the fill and the back. A thin layer of nonwoven sits atop the bat and the back and bat are stitched thru giving this piece the best features of a comforter and the appearance of a duvet. Upcycing these garments into usable and very functional pieces hug our planet. We treasure that. Each package is sold as a three piece set which includes the duvet comforter and two shams. The shams are open in the back for ease of fill. The duvet comforter fill is stitched in as it is launderable as it is- the fill needs never be removed or replaced.
