White Christmas Tree Color Schemes

While white is known as a neutral color that goes well with nearly anything, a few color combos feel a little more festive.

White and gold

You can't go wrong with white and gold if you’re looking for a classy color scheme. Adding gold decor and ornaments to your white tree gives it a bit of sparkle and a touch of luxury. To get this effect, drape some gold tinsel over your Christmas tree branches or load up your tree with sparkly gold ball ornaments, top the tree with a gold star, and complete the look with a string of white Christmas lights to really make all the gold elements shine.

White and red candy cane

One of the most recognizable color combos with white is red, especially for the holidays. Reminiscent of candy canes, Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman, bright red and clean white make for a fun and festive decor theme

White and royal blue

Having a Blue Christmas doesn’t need to be sad. Royal blue decor makes for a sophisticated pairing with a white tree. The darker blue helps balance the bright white and evokes the chill of a winter’s night.

Since this is a softer color combo, lean into soft, cozy elements. Curls of blue ribbon draped down the tree or blue and white flowers dotting the branches may feel homey. Tastefully place a few traditional ball ornaments to really round out the look, especially if you use them to also add a touch of gold or silver.

White Christmas Tree Decorations

Can’t decide if you want an white Christmas tree or white Christmas tree decorations? Discover all the easy ways you can incorporate white ornaments and other decorations into your holiday decor plans.

All white tree

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, an all-white Christmas tree might be just right for you. You can choose from a tree with all-white branches, or a flocked tree — a typical green tree with fake snow adhered to the branches, making it appear white.

A fully white tree can have a striking effect, especially when paired with a bright accent such as red or gold. A flocked tree, meanwhile, has a more natural, homey feel to it, great for more traditional or neutral decor.

White ribbons

Match your tree to the presents underneath with some tastefully placed ribbons. Drape lengths of white ribbon down the sides of the tree or tie the ribbons in bows and place them on the branches. You can even replace your tree topper with an elaborate ribbon bow to finish off the look.

White tinsel

For a festive and easy way to add some sparkle to your tree, tinsel takes the cake. Drape these sparkling strands from each bough of your tree for a soft, dreamy take on Christmas.

White balls

Though ball ornaments may seem plain, they’re a classic for a reason. They’re unobtrusive and tasteful, making them pair well with any other decor. White balls have the added benefit of a neutral color that can fit easily into almost any color scheme, whether you’re sticking with all-white or adding an accent color or two.

Crystal ornaments

Crystal ornaments add some beautiful sparkle to your tree. They elicit a similar aesthetic to snowflakes that sparkle as they fall to the ground. Crystal ornaments may come in many shapes and styles, such as snowflakes, angels, snowmen, or stars. Be careful, though. Because they’re so delicate, crystal pieces are probably best left off a tree that might be easily jostled or knocked over by pets or small children.

White sparkly snowflakes and figurines

If you’re going for the snow-kissed look with your all-white tree, you can’t forget to add some sparkly snowflakes and figurines. Add some adorable figure skaters gliding up and down your branches or bring Frosty and his family to play among the ornaments. A few glittering snowflakes will polish off the look and add some shine without overpowering the white tree.

White ceramic

You can’t go wrong with white ceramic ornaments for a vintage look. Though they’re less popular today, they add an old-timey air to your tree that calls on the Christmases of yesteryear. Ceramic ornaments may be as simple as plain balls, or they can be as elaborate as miniature sculptures or figurines.

White Christmas Tree Styling Tips

If you’re looking for tips on how to fit a white Christmas tree decorations into your aesthetic, look no further.

Decorating a flocked tree

Flocked trees have a natural feel that lends itself well to rustic aesthetics. Ideal decor for this type of tree might include burlap ribbons, wooden ornaments, or traditional glass ball ornaments.

You can also lean into the natural aesthetic with sprigs of holly or evergreen. Place some faux birds on the branches to finish the look.

Decorating a white tree

Because white is a neutral color that’s easy to pair with, almost anything goes when it comes to accent colors and decor. For a cohesive look, try pairing your tree decor with the aesthetic of your room or the rest of your space.

Fit your tree into your modern farmhouse style with some rustic wooden ornaments and earth-toned accents. Go for a modern vibe with monochrome ornaments in black and white or with silver or gold accents for a bit of glam. Lean into a bright, pastel space with soft pastel ornaments and glittering strands of tinsel.

Decorating with white ornaments

If you want to add some white accents to your Christmas tree, white ornaments are a must. Whether you’re complementing an all-white tree or adding some white to a more traditional tree, they’re a nice accent that won’t overpower your decor. Balance your white ornaments with garlands, tinsel, or ornaments in another accent color for a stylish and cohesive design.
