About La-Z-Boy Furniture
A Century of Excellence
Edward Knabusch and Edwin Shoemaker founded La-Z-Boy in 1927 in their Michigan garage, where the two cousins created their first recliner chair. At first, they'd called the new company the Floral City Furniture Company. However, after their brand began to skyrocket in popularity, they changed the company name to La-Z-Boy, starting a legacy that's kept their products iconic to this day.
Made in the USA
La-Z-Boy is proudly American, and almost all its products are made locally in the United States at various manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, and Arkansas. La-Z-Boy manufactures around 8,000 pieces of furniture daily and employs around as many workers nationwide across different plants, distribution centers, and retail stores.

The company's illustrious history and long-term success have seen La-Z-Boy expand into a retail furniture giant, offering extensive selections of items under five sister brands that cover furniture for every room, nook, and cranny of the house.
As the parent brand behind La-Z-Boy Residential, Joybird, Hammary, England Furniture Co., Kincaid Furniture, and American Drew, La-Z-Boy's product lines cover a vast rage, including sofas, recliners, love seats, sectionals, ottomans, and collections for dining, living, bedroom, office, and outdoor furniture.
