Antique hand-carved and hand-painted ancient Roman history armchair with newly upholstered silk damask seat cushion. Hand-carved Roman mythological figures, faces and adornment are coated in a gesso plaster and hand-painted. Hand-painted scenes depict Roman mythological and historical events. No maker's marks. Seat measures: 18"H (without seat cushion). An outstanding collector s piece . Arms measure: 28"H.
