This original Kang table hails from Shanxi province and dates back to the late 19th century. Originally designed for placement on either side of the kang—a raised stone platform utilized as a bed in affluent Chinese households—this Kang table has been raised and repurposed into a one-of-a-kind slim console. Retaining its original lacquer and paintwork, it stands as a functional work of art, showcasing exceptional Chinese craftsmanship.
