An antique barrel-stave steamer trunk dating from the mid 19th century. Made of oak, it has a domed lid with gold painted brass corners, black leather strapping and original iron hinges. Each end has a leather carrying handle and the interior is painted in a sea foam green. A small repair in front has been made with newspaper and shows an article titled “Musical Blind Children Of Wilson County which appeared in the Atlanta Constitution in 1885.
