Beds & Headboards

It’s no secret that sleep is one of the most crucial components to supporting a happy, healthy, and well-rested lifestyle. Stress interferes with a peaceful night’s rest, so we’re giving you one less thing to worry about by helping you find the best setup for getting your eight hours of shuteye each night.

Let’s start with the basics: mattress size, bed frame type, and headboard styles.

There are several factors to consider when selecting the size of your bed, including room size, sleeping style, and body size. Start by measuring how much space you have in your bedroom and go from there.

Often, bedrooms serve as a perfect oasis and a blend of aesthetics and comfort. When designing your bedroom, be sure to find a style that you really love, whether it is matching existing colors and prints, or starting from scratch.

F.A.Q.

What is the purpose of a headboard?

Your bed is the cornerstone of your bedroom, the most used and essential piece of furniture. Your headboard grounds your bed in the room, defining the room's design and providing comfort.

· Take up less space than a full bed frame, which is useful when furnishing small bedrooms.

· Elevate the look of the room and provide a backdrop for decorative pillows.

· Support your back, neck, and head when sitting up in bed, especially if upholstered.

· Protect the wall from scratches.

· Act as an additional layer of insulation.

Can you just purchase a headboard?

Beds and headboards can be purchased together as part of bedroom sets, with bed frames, or with other frame components like footboards. Headboards can also be purchased without specific beds or bed frames.

Make your headboard a focal point in your bedroom with a unique headboard that does not come with your bedroom set. Shop by style to discover beds and headboards that work well with the look of your bedroom. Find headboards made of metal, wood, fabric, and other materials like rattan and wicker. Headboards also come in various designs and shapes, including panels, slats, sleighs, and bookcases.

Can you attach a headboard to any frame?

Not all headboards work with all bed frames. Always check compatibility between headboards and bed frames when choosing furniture for your bedroom. Check how the headboard is installed in the room. Some headboards must be mounted to a bed frame or wall while others—freestanding headboards—are simply placed behind the bed frame.

Your headboard, attached or not, must work well with your bed frame, bed, and bedroom. The headboard, bed frame, and bed must all be the same size: king, queen, or whichever bed size you choose. Your bed size also dictates your headboard width. Once you address headboard size and installation type, the fun of choosing a headboard to elevate your bedroom design begins.
