Wayne studied art at the UCSB and received a BFA at The Parsons School of Design. She was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, Joan Mitchell Foundation Artist Grant, New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting, the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Artist Grant, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Artist Grant.
