A period, Japanese color woodblock landscape showing a view of travelers in a section of wetland near Hiratsuka, circa 1850. (#8 of the 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō (東海 五 次, Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi). Signed in Kanji, "Hiroshige Ga" for Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858) and printed circa 1946 by Gihachiro Okuyama (1907-1981). A fine image with fresh color, printed on traditional washi mulberry paper and showing delicate bokashi gradation of the sumi ink. (Nishiki-e and Yoko-e). (H08)
